Workshop for Researchers of the 21st Domestic Peaceful Reunification Forum (1st, 2nd rounds)


The PUAC held the 21st Workshop for Peaceful Unification Researchers on March 20 (1st round) and 21 (2nd) at the conference room of the Secretariat. 


The first workshop was attended by research chairs and researchers from Seoul, Incheon, Daejeon, Sejong and Gangwon and the second by research chairs and researchers from Gwangju, Gyeonggi, Chungbuk and Chungnam.


The workshop included an opening ceremony, presentation of business report, special expert lectures, report on the direction of the Domestic Peaceful Unification Forum in 2024, and a full discussion.


In his business report on “Spreading the Unification Discourse and the Role of Researchers,” Kim Jum-joon, Director of Consultation and Advice Bureau, emphasized the role of the forum and researchers in "creating a forum for peaceful reunification discussions, spreading the unification discourse based on the spirit of the Constitution, and broadly collecting on-site opinions on unification."

The special expert lectures were given by Kim Il-ki, a senior research fellow of the Institute for National Security Strategy (1st), and Cha Doo-hyun, a senior research fellow at the Asan Institute for Policy Studies (2nd), spoke on "Changes in the Unification Environment and Tasks for Preparing for Unification.”

The researchers made in-depth discussions about the direction of the Forum in 2024, including continued efforts to strengthen its capacity, expanding networks to revitalize the Forum, and discussing reunification with future generations.

The 3rd (Busan, Daegu, Ulsan, Gyeongsangbuk-do) and 4th (Jeollabuk-do, Jeollanam-do, Gyeongsangnam-do, Jeju) workshops will be held on March 27 and 28, respectively.
